The Southern Miss Department of Athletics announced Tuesday that they have requested and received additional tickets for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl after selling its original allotment of 6,875.

The game is set for 7:15 p.m., this Sunday at the Louisiana Superdome.

“We are extremely excited about the number of tickets we have sold so far and we want to thank our fans for the great support they have shown for our team and coaches,” said Southern Miss Director of Athletics Richard Giannini. “We also want to stress to our fans that they can still buy tickets in the Southern Miss section from our ticket office. Our goal is to turn the city into Southern Miss Black and Gold that weekend.”

The Golden Eagles, who are making their seventh-straight bowl appearance and 19th overall, have only sold more bowl tickets to the 1997 and 2003 Liberty Bowls.

Tickets for the game are $40 for sidelines and $20 for students and can be purchased through the Pat Ferlise Athletic Ticket Office on West 4th St., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., over the phone at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or online at SouthernMiss.com.

Starting Friday, Southern Miss will open its ticket office in New Orleans at the Hilton Riverside (2 Poydras St.) for ticket sales and will call pickup. The phone number for the ticket office will be 504-586-4661
